Vaccinations

We routinely offer vaccinations for your pet to provide protection against infectious disease. Dogs have a primary vaccination course from 6 weeks of age to protect against diseases such as Distemper, Parvo-virus, Parainfluenza, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough.

Cats have a primary vaccination course from 9 weeks of age to protect against; Cat Flu, Feline Enteritis and Feline Leukaemia. We offer vaccinations for rabbits to protect against Viral Haemorrhagic Disease and Myxomatosis. We recommend vaccinating your pet against infectious disease as many of these diseases can be life-threatening but are preventable.

Parasitology

We provide a full range of easy to administer, flea, tick and worm treatments, and if you find it difficult to administer any form of medication, our experienced veterinary surgeons and nurses will be happy to demonstrate or treat your pet during consultation.

Health Checks

During your pet’s annual health check, the veterinary surgeon will listen to their heart and lungs, assess organ function and can offer further investigations as necessary. Dietary, exercise and specific breed advice are all available if required.

Nurse Clinics

Our experienced nurses provide free nurse consultations ranging from post-operative checks and suture removals to nail-clipping, adolescent health checks, weight-clinics and geriatric care.

Behaviour

Buckley House aims to be a behaviourally-aware practice, we have a separate waiting room and hospital ward available for our feline patients, and DAP and Feliway (pheromone calming products), used in our hospital. Our nurse Lizzie is also on-hand to offer behavioural advice and referral service.
